UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (21-2 MMA, 15-2 UFC) will fight down his championship against Shields (26-4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in the headliner of April’s UFC 129 event in Toronto. This marvelous fight is about to occur this April 30, 2011.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the rumor. The event will also hold UFC Hall of Famer Couture (19-10 MMA, 16-7 UFC) vs. former champion Lyoto Machida (16-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC). UFC 129 is slated at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The night’s main card airs on pay-per-view.

Having the French-Canadian, St-Pierre on the main card does the trick. The champion latterly posted his 5th championship defense with an unanimous triumph over topmost challenger Josh Koscheck at UFC 124. The top-billed champion intents to succeed the welterweight division via win over Jake Shields. It will also assure his 9th win and fifthtenth triumph in his 16 fights.
